Family Doctor

Dr. Michael Lyons is the current President of the Texas Gulf Coast Medical Group. Dr. Lyons, received his medical degree in Osteopathy from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Fort Worth. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Galveston. He joined Gulf Coast Medical Group in 1995 in Galveston and relocated his practice to the Clear Lake area in 1997. Dr. Lyons is board-certified by the American Board of Family Practice.

His academic appointments include adjunct clinical professor at UTMB and associate professor at the University of North Texas health Science Center, Fort Worth.

He is an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians. His special interest in family medicine is preventive and sports medicine. Dr. Lyons' practice philosophy is to place the needs of his patients as the highest priority in his professional life. He believes education is the key to empowering his patients and allowing an educated patient to aid in his/her own health care decisions. Dr. and Mrs. Lyons reside in the Houston area and are the parents of a son. He and his family enjoy musicals, outdoor activities such as hiking and snow skiing and church activities.
